MicroAir Regulator for Catheter Tubing Extrusion

An air pressure regulator reduces and stabilizes incoming factory air (typically 45–65 psi) to a precise, ultra-low output pressure required by the process. MicroAir regulators use a spring-balance or voice-coil motor mechanism with viscostatic damping fluid to maintain a set output pressure, venting surplus air automatically to keep pressure constant even as flow rates vary.

MicroAir regulators are available in multiple pressure ranges from ultra-low (0–2 or 0–3 inches of water) up to 0–5 psi. The appropriate range depends on your tubing material, wall thickness, and extrusion line requirements. A Range Change Kit or service is also available if your process needs change after purchase.

MicroAir I features manual control via a 30-turn knob for simple set-and-hold applications. MicroAir II adds contact closure inputs for integration with O.D. gauges or external controllers. MicroAir IV uses a 0–10V analog input with a high-speed voice-coil motor, enabling PLC control and rapid switching for bump and taper tubing, with response times under 0.1 second.

Each channel can be set to a different pressure range and, on MicroAir IV models, can have its own digital display and output option, making them ideal for complex multi-lumen catheter manufacturing.

No calibration is required for MicroAir regulators. The viscostatic damping fluid provides inherently stable, hysteresis-free operation over the long term.
