MicroAir 4-Channel Pressure Regulator

A standard pressure regulator controls the downstream (outlet) pressure by throttling flow from a higher-pressure source. A back-pressure regulator controls upstream (inlet) pressure by opening to release fluid when the inlet pressure exceeds the set point. Standard regulators are used to supply controlled pressure to a process, while back-pressure regulators protect upstream equipment or maintain consistent feed pressure in a system.

A dome-loaded regulator uses a pressurized gas chamber (the dome) above the diaphragm as its reference pressure rather than a mechanical spring. The dome pressure sets the outlet pressure, allowing remote adjustment and very precise, responsive control. This design is particularly suited to applications requiring dynamic pressure changes, such as bump and taper tubing extrusion where set points must shift rapidly and accurately.

The MultiAir 4-Channel MicroAir IV controls four independent air pressure channels simultaneously. Each channel has its own dedicated voice-coil linear motor, digital display, and output option, allowing each lumen or tubing zone to be set to a different pressure range and controlled independently via 0–10V analog or PLC input signals.

The MicroAir 4-Channel regulator is available in various pressure ranges from 0–3 inches of water (ultra-low) up to 0–5 psi. Each of the four channels can be configured to a different range, making the unit highly versatile for applications that require simultaneous control of multiple lumens or zones at differing pressures within a single extrusion line.

The MicroAir 4-Channel regulator accepts 0–10V analog input and is fully compatible with PLC control systems.
