The slip clutch is a critical protective feature factory-set in every motorized potentiometer. It protects the potentiometer's end stops from mechanical overload, prevents gear train breakage, and allows for manual shaft adjustment when the motor is powered off. Important: adjusting the clutch setting yourself may void the warranty and render the unit inoperable.
