High Precision Proportional Controls for Automating Analog Driven Devices. - Panel Mount

Series MC (DC) and MAC (AC) models are available with single turn or ten turn, wirewound or conductive plastic, and single or multiple gang potentiometer. The slip clutch protects the potentiometers end stops, and allows for manual adjustment. On Line Controls offers manually adjustable motorpots which combine a highly reliable potentiometer, with a slip clutch, geartrain and motor in a single panel mount assembly. Motor controlled potentiometers give wide latitude in speed control.

All units are tested in factory to ensure accurate, reliable, and long-lasting performance.

Selection Guide:

Potentiometer considerations:
  1. Resistance value (ohmage).
    10, 20, 50, 100, 200, 500 ohms, 1K, 2K, 5K, 10K, 200K 50K, 100K depending on model
  2. Wattage (.5, 1, 2, or 5 watt)
  3. Type - conductive plastic or wirewound
  4. Single turn or 10-turn. (3 or 5 turn available upon special request).
  5. Single, dual or triple gang for feedback purposes

Motor Considerations:
  1. AC or DC voltage.
  2. Operating voltage (6 VDC, 12 VDC, 24 VDC, 24 VAC or 115 VAC).
  3. RPM (turns per minute) desired.

Potentiometer Choices:

 Single Turn Potentiometer for low resolution applications.
Multi-turn for more power, better resolution, linearity, and setability than a single turn.
Conductive Plastic element for long life and essentially infinite resolution. For use when wiper current will not exceed 5 milliamps.
Wirewound element for better stability and lower temperature coefficient. For when using the potentiometer as a variable resistor. Wiper current must not exceed 50 milliamps.
Hybrid element is made with conductive plastic over a wirewound element. Lower inductance, better resolution and longer life.

MC and ME Series:
Best performance at low currents, typically 5 to 20 ma.
Choose 6, 12, or 24 VDC
RPMs 1, 3, 5, 10, 18, 35, 61, or 120.
Other RPM's are available.
All DC motorized potentiometers have a +/- 20% RPMs.
All motors have a 6" red and black connector wires from the motor.

Special cabling harnasses can be made, send specifications, for a quotation.

DC motorized potentiometers can be made ROHS compliant upon request.
Resistances values are 10, 20, 50, 100, 200, 500 ohms, 1K, 2K, 5K, 10K, 20K, 50K, and 100K depending on model.
Diagrams available by email - Length measurement depends on RPM's required and therefore the motor and geartrain used.

All AC motors are equipped with a reversible 115 VAC motor.
A limited number of optional 24 VAC motors are available.
RPM's available 1, 2, 3, 5, 10 or 15 RPM
Special cabling harnesses can be made, send specifications, for a quotation.
All AC models include starting capacitor and dynamic braking diode. Some models have a circuit board with mounted starting capacitor, breaking diode and solder terminals.

Other Options

 On Line Controls can work with your engineer to motorize any other manufacturer's rotary potentiometers, rheostats, or variable transformers. Potentiometers with a dual shaft or back shaft can retain its standard mounting manual knob operation. All others forfeit manual operation for motorized operation.
